About

Who We Are

Urban Village is composed of a group of people with real stories. We enjoy the company of others who gather together to celebrate life, the good and the difficult. We center on the teachings of the Holy Bible which point us to the giver of life who is Christ. We have come to call this gathering – “community.”

Community in Christ, which is fellowship of believers, described in the book of Acts in chapter 2 verse 42, is a fundamental practice among us. This type of healthy, holistic community, centered on Holy Scripture, defines the demonstration of 3 things in our lives: faith, love and hope.

Urban Village is a community of faith, love and hope. We are committed to joining Christ in the renewal of all things beginning first in the epicenters of South Florida (West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami). Faith, love and hope are our resources for kingdom advancement.

Urban Village strives to be a people who are marked by their personal faith in Jesus Christ, living a life of love and being a voice of hope.

We know that this message is animated by the people of Urban Village coming together to hear the voice of God in the context of our city and then being sent to live this kind of life in obedience to God. We become agents of change as we serve this city in the Spirit of God by letting her see the robust gospel of faith, love and hope. We are committed to becoming servants, not simply fulfilling occasional acts of service. This launches a movement of redeeming humanity, reclaiming culture and renewing our cities.

Urban Village’s vision is manifested in 4 ways of communal mission.

  1. Village Gathering (VG) – is the 4th Sunday of every month. Beginning on October 26th for our soft launch, we meet at NorthStar Community Church with all of our Missional Community locations to celebrate Christ as Lord and to hear how the Spirit of God has been advancing in these Missional Communities throughout the month.
  2. Missional Communities (MC) – meet weekly to share life together by following the essence of Acts 2:42. The Apostles teaching, fellowship, sharing a common meal and prayer is the focus. Where we do this and why we do this is important.
  3. Life Groups (LG) – smaller groups of 3-5 that meet in addition to MC based on relationships that are formed in MC.
  4. City Renewal Projects (CRP) – come together to be a visible sign of the Kingdom. We help transform the part of the city our MC meets in by partnering with a local organization.

We welcome you to connect with us as we join Christ in the renewal of all things in the great cities of South Florida. Join us at one of our Missional Communities or at one of our Village Gatherings to learn how to get involved.
